Meet Craig Archibald – Owner of CYC Joinery and Garage Conversions Ltd

Welcome to my professional blog. My name is Craig Archibald, and I’m the owner of a dedicated joinery and garage conversion company based in the UK. With a strong background in joinery since I was 16, working on home renovations, and high-quality craftsmanship, I’ve built my business on trust, precision, and a genuine passion for creating spaces that truly enhance how people live.

From the beginning, my goal has been simple – to deliver a professional service with personal care and attention to detail. I believe success comes from reliability, honest communication, and taking pride in every stage of the job, no matter the size. Over the years, these values have helped me earn a loyal customer base and grow my business through positive word of mouth and strong client relationships.

I’ve always aimed to run a company where quality comes first. My focus is on garage conversions, kitchen installations, bathroom renovations and custom joinery, with every project tailored to suit the customer’s vision and needs. I take great satisfaction in transforming unused or outdated areas into practical, well-designed spaces that add real value to a home.

This blog is a space to share the journey – from completed projects and design inspiration to behind-the-scenes insights into how great craftsmanship is achieved. My personal goal is to continue improving, learning, and expanding my business while keeping that same level of care and professionalism that has made it successful today.

Thank you for visiting and for supporting local, independent craftsmanship. I hope you enjoy following along with my work and the stories behind each project.

Barry

Barry (aka Baz)

Meet Barry – Senior Joiner with CYC

Barry is an essential part of the Craig Archibald Joinery and garage conversion company. He plays a major role in the success of our projects. With over 25 years of experience in the joinery trade, he brings a wealth of skill, craftsmanship, and practical knowledge to every job.

For the past five years, Barry has been a valued member of the company, someone I trust completely to represent the same standards of quality, professionalism, and care that our business is built on. His attention to detail, strong work ethic, and consistent results make him a standout joiner and a key figure in our team.

Beyond his joinery skills, Barry regularly helps with running the business, supporting project management and client communication whenever needed. He’s the kind of person who always goes the extra mile for every customer, making sure each project is completed to the highest standard and with genuine care.

Barry’s reliability and pride in his work reflect exactly what our company stands for, craftsmanship you can trust, delivered by people who truly care about their trade and their customers.

Lewis

Lewis (aka Lewy)

Meet Lewis – Our Apprentice Joiner

Every great team needs new talent coming through, and for us, that’s Lewis. He joined CYC joinery and garage conversions at just 18 years old, and over the past four years, he’s become a vital part of the business.

From day one, Lewis has shown the kind of attitude you can’t teach, hard-working, eager to learn, and always ready to take on a challenge. Whether it’s assisting on a full garage conversion, fitting a kitchen, or helping with bespoke joinery work or his college work, Lewis approaches every task with focus and enthusiasm.
Working closely alongside Barry, our senior joiner, Lewis has picked up a huge amount of hands-on experience and professional skill. The two make a brilliant team, Barry’s years of knowledge and Lewis’s drive to learn keep the standard of our work consistently high.

Clients often comment on Lewis’s polite, respectful manner and how comfortable he makes them feel throughout a project. That’s a big part of what makes him such an asset not just his skill with the tools, but the pride he takes in representing our business the right way. He has learnt all this from working and watching Barry.

It’s been rewarding watching him grow in confidence and ability over the years. As he continues developing his trade, I have no doubt Lewis has a bright future ahead in joinery and we’re proud to have played a part in shaping it.

Emma

Meet Emma – The Heart Behind the Scenes

Every successful business needs someone keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and for Craig Archibald CYC joinery and garage conversions that’s Emma. She’s been with the company since day one, working alongside me to help build and manage everything that keeps our projects, customers, and online presence organised and professional.

Emma handles all our administration, online work, and social media, ensuring that every enquiry is answered, every project is scheduled properly, and every update reaches our customers. While she might not be on-site with a hammer or saw, her work is a huge part of what keeps CYC functioning day to day she also keeps craig on his toes and on top form.

Her attention to detail, organisation, and communication skills allows the rest of us to focus fully on the joinery side of the business. From managing emails and paperwork to updating our website and social media, Emma makes sure the company looks as professional online as it performs in person.

Having been part of the journey from the very beginning, Emma has helped shape the business into what it is today. Her dedication, reliability, and support have been vital to our growth, and I couldn’t imagine the company without her.

She might work quietly behind the scenes, but her contribution is loud and clear in everything we do.

I can’t wait to see how CYC grows in the years to come but I know we will do well and continue to do better always performing to the best of our ability with the team we have.
